Gustavo is interested in data mining, statistical process control, regression, and design of experiments. Gustavo holds a M.S.E. in Industrial Engineering with specialization in Quality Systems and Productivity from Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, a certificate in Six Sigma Black Belt from Arizona State University and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the Instituto Tecnologico de Sonora.
Before joining the PhD program Gustavo worked for 9 years for Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma Brewery (now Heineken Mexico) where he held the positions of: Packaging supervisor, International buyer, Organizational Development chief and Quality Systems chief. His most relevant achievements were the first implementation of SAP module for the plant (MRP), the leader in the certification in HACCP, ISO9001:2008, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 and the proposal and execution of the first Six Sigma project at Navojoa Plant.
Gustavo is also currently working at the Speech and Hearing Department at ASU where he is the database manager.
